The Nintendo PlayStation prototype recently went up for sale at auction and the winning bidder had remained a mystery, until now. It turns out that the winning bidder was Greg McLemore who is the founder of Pets.com. He purchased the lucrative prototype for a staggering $360K and plans to open a gaming museum as he has a vast collection of legacy consoles and rarities including arcade machines. Hopefully others will be given a chance to see it up close.

It’s nice to hear that the right kind of person ended up winning. Much better than somebody who would have just stuffed it in their closet.
