Germany: Animal Crossing: New Horizons has sold over 500K, 4x faster than Smash Bros Ultimate

The German Games Industry Association has revealed that the smash hit Nintendo Switch title Animal Crossing: New Horizons has shifted over 500,000 copies in the country. This figure appears to include both physical and digital sales. The 500K sales for New Horizons has been achieved in an immensely short period of time compared to other Nintendo Switch releases. Here’s how long it has taken other large Switch titles to reach the very same milestone:

  • Super Mario Party – 8 months
  • Super Mario Odyssey – ~8 months
  • Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 12 months
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – ~12 months
  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 3 months



  1. You know what’s impressive? A non graphical game is selling better than those games thos graphic whores love. Anyone know why that is?
    And speaking of questions? Why is it that Nintendo is not at all worried about PS5 and Series X ? Nintendo is just so quiet.

    They have something up their sleeves. But I’m not sure what it is. I just hope Pikmin 4 comes to the Switch.
