Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has been updated to version 8.0

As planned, Nintendo has released a new update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, bringing the game to version 8.0. This update adds Min Min to the game as a playable character DLC, and more re-balancing has been done to the game’s roster. The full official patch notes can be seen down below.

  • Offline
    • You can now begin a spirit battle rematch at any time via Spirits → Collection → Inventory → Spirit List → Fight. The score will also be recorded.
    • The following spirits will appear in the Shop on the Vault menu:
      • Master Mummy
      • Mechanica

      • Kid Cobra
      • Helix
      • Max Brass

    • The following downloadable content will be usable after purchase:

    1. I kept springing into the air when I wanted to do an usmash. This will be challenging to get used to.

      I have to say it but… I’m kinda bored already. I did classic mode, home run, the multiman smashes. I did the DLC spirits. I even tried the new spirit rematch(?) feature and… While it’s a great high score incentive, I feel like I’ve already done all the spirit matches multiple times. I kinda forgot to see if this let replay boss fights via spirits… Hmm…

      But, more or less, I’m already bored with this update :/. Is it just me or is these DLC releases just not super exciting?

      1. What’s happening is I’m getting used to pressing the B button for tilt and smash attacks so sometimes when I want to do a usmash I end up doing a uspecial. It’ll just take some getting used to.

      2. They’re coming out too slow for my liking. Not saying I don’t understand the struggles the team experiences nowadays, but I really do want to know what’s next in store with the fighter pass, and if we’re going to get an Amiibo of every fighter.

        But yeah, there was a little more to Min Min that I thought, but still not that fun to play ass. I got all the spirits, except for some silly event stuff (I hate that). Will just have to wait for those I guess.
