Rumour: A traditional Nintendo Direct could premiere this month

Video Games Chronicle is reporting that known insider Kelios, who has accurately predicted Nintendo Direct presentations in the past, claims that there will be a traditional Nintendo Direct later this month. The Direct is claimed to take place on Monday, 20th July. The next big first party Nintendo game is Paper Mario: The Origami King which launches next Friday and then that’s all we know for rest of the year. So it makes sense for Nintendo to hold a Direct after its release to show gamers what to expect over the coming months. As always this is just a rumour.

    1. Kelios has proven to be a relatively reliable source for the rumor mill.

      So, yes. “Okay then.”

  1. Well, rumors can be rumors. But, i find it hard to believe this kind of rumor about another direct coming this month. We all know that we might get Mario remake games very soon.

    1. “We all know that we might get Mario remake games very soon.”
You could say this about literally anything . Its a rumor about a rumor .

  2. Yeah yeah, the boy who cried wolf. Next you’re gonna tell me they’re gonna announce partners and cooking in Paper Mario: The origami king, there’s gonna be news on Metroid prime 4, Bayonetta 3, the sequel to Breath of the wild, and the new Kirby game, a new Mario kart with Baby Waluigi and Wario stadium, Nintendo is going to own the rights to Mega Man and they’re gonna make a new battle network featuring Crashman.exe, and a DLC fighter worth buying unlike Min Min.

    1. That happens with literally every rumor. A gets insiders info for one thing, leaks it, and then everyone assumes that every leak afterwards must be right. That or they get info on one thing, make up a bunch of shit. But since they were right once people assume they’ll be right about all of it.

  3. I do feel like there will be a direct, but I would of thought it would poss be just b4 release of paper Mario to show it off in more depth. Maybe, maybe not.
It would be nice to see an update on botw 2 and confirm the Mario remakes.
I won’t hold my breath for bayo 3 and mp4 though.

Bayonetta 3 is going to end up like Half Life 3. Of course Bayo 3 got announced and then we will not see anything ever again…

First this Kellios said it was tomorrow. Now it’s on 20th…

  5. They have mishandled things so badly this year. They drop the Direct which had bigger announcements without even saying anything. Later they turn round and announce Paper Mario which would have been such a better ending to the Pokemon one they gave us in March and then when they do hype up a Direct it turns out to be the absolute worst thing ever (Pokemon Unite).

I honestly think these Mario remakes were fake news and the rest of the year is Mario 3D World, Pikmin 3 and Zelda.

    1. I dont know what Nintendo plans on doing. Animal Crossing want keep Switch sells up forever. If this continues and PS5 comes and Nintendo keeps acting like this……

  6. Or be very satisfied if they confirm BoTW2, Bayonetta 3 and MetroidPrime 4 for this year. I don’t need anything else.

MP4 very unlikely though since a week ago they hired a developer.

    1. I’d be pretty surprised if any of those came this year. I feel like BotW and Bayo will be 2021 while MP4 will be 2022

    2. I told ja. They take forever to make sequels. They make a good game, see it sells well and the sequel is still not started on 5 or 6 years later. Had they worked on Sequels immediately then we would had already saw them. I been asking ingo on Mario Rabbids 2 and Pikmin 4 for the longest and nothing. What does Myiomoto do at Nintendo? Nothing? Must be nice to get paid 6 figures doing nothing.

    3. Yeah I doubt MP4 is coming out.
I’m starting to think when Nintendo first announced that they were working on Metroid Prime 4 two years ago had not done nothing just talking out their ass just like Pikmin 4 was nearly complete 5 years ago.

  7. If this is legit, it might be the presentation (or at least bits and pieces of it) that was intended for E3 before it was cancelled. It might be late, but when you consider Paper Mario releases next week and the rest of the year Nintendo has *nothing*, some news is better than no news.

No doubt it will contain new details for BotW2 and likely some Super Mario anniversary thing, but there have to be some other projects as well, like a new Kirby (the timing just feels conducive for one, I can’t explain why) and whatever Next Level started on once Luigi’s Mansion 3 was finished (I predict Mario Strikers 3). And because I hope for it every year because I have to, I’m praying to a deity I can’t even believe in that a new F-Zero game is coming to Switch. The console either already has or is slated to have its biggest names available on it; it’s high time the neglected little guys get some attention.

  8. How much yall wanna bet they hadn’t even started Astral Chain II? If they are going to work on a next Switch then the software developers need to also get started immediately
