New Smash Bros Ultimate update Version 8.1.0 adds new stage Small Battlefield

A brand new update is now available for the immensely popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch system. The update brings the game to Version 8.1.0 and adds a brand new stage for you to try out which is titled, Small Battlefield. Nintendo also announced that you will be able to select from all the music tracks when playing on Final Destination and Battlefield stages. Here’s the full patch notes:

Ver. 8.1.0 (Released August 5, 2020)

  • Stage
    • The Small Battlefield stage has been added. You can also set Small Battlefield as a Preferred Rule in Online battles.
    • You can now select any stage-specific music for the Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Big Battlefield, and Final Destination stages.
  • Online
    • The online user experience has been adjusted.
    • The way matching is determined when using Preferred Rules has been adjusted.
    • Following a look at the current number of players eligible for Elite Smash, the threshold for entry has been recalculated to allow more players. Additionally, the way initial values for Global Smash Power are calculated has also been adjusted.
    • Further investigations and adjustments to Online mode are expected.
  • General
    • Several issues have been fixed to improve gameplay experience.

  1. Lol small stage just makes it even easier for spam characters to camp and spam, I was in three battles with this stage and I only won one against a ness main, the rest just spam same move at me till I was at high percentage and easily killed me, didn’t sakurai mention that using the same move would decrease it’s power damage in the first direct, because it doesn’t seem to be use anymore in any of the lastest updates.
