KH: Melody of Memory producer Ichiro Hazama says that the idea of the game “was floating around for a while”

Game Informer recently spoke to Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory producer Ichiro Hazama, co-director Masanobu Suzui, and Kingdom Hearts director Testuya Nomura about their upcoming release. Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory is releasing on Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on November 13th, but according to Hazama, the idea of the game has been around for a long time. You can see Hazama’s remarks about the matter in full down below.

“The idea was floating around for a while, it was around five years ago. [Suzui and I] kept thinking, ‘Oh, we would love to do a Theatrhythm Kingdom Hearts.’ We were discussing it, making planning documents, and things like that. But at the time, we decided that it might be a bit difficult to move forward with the project. A few years ago, there was a separate discussion with Nomura-san and Disney. Disney actually came forward to Nomura-san, asking, “Hey, could you do this with us?” They decided that they wanted to move forward with the project and then the discussion came down to me and Suzui-san to do this project, and that’s how this project came to be.”

    1. I played all the Kingdom Hearts games in one sitting last year so I could play and review KH3… I had it with Kingdom Hearts for years to come xD I didn’t like any of the rhytm games in any of the games. Can’t say I’m hyped either, but I do understand people want more KH on Nintendo-platforms.
