Japan: Nintendo has applied for Pokemon HeartGold and Pokemon SoulSilver trademarks

In Japan, Nintendo has recently filed for trademarks for two games that Pokemon fans will be interested to know about: SoulSilver and HeartGold. Although the trademarks were published today (23rd of September), Nintendo filed for these specific trademarks towards the beginning of the month – 7th September to be exact. According to reputable website,, ‘The Pokémon HeartGold trademark (商願2020-110933) and Pokémon SoulSilver trademark (商願2020-110934) each cover 50 products and services including video game programs along with several related purposes’.

Time will, as always, tell if we can expect some revamped Pokemon games to arrive on the Nintendo Switch. But given the popularity of Pokemon Sword / Shield and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu & Let’s Go Eevee, it won’t be surprising if we see some older games getting the remastered treatment sooner rather than later.

  1. Blue/Red were the first titles and amazing games. But honestly Silver/Gold will always be my favorite iteration of the series, then we got the amazing remake of the two games with the PokeWalker.

I still have and randomly take mine out with me sometimes. I think there’s an Ekans in it currently.

    Better than a damn Tamagotchi.

  2. I honestly wait for diamond and pearl remakes on the switch, but I hope they wont make it close to sword and shield, these games aren’t pokemon at all.
