Respected Japanese publication Famitsu has revealed their latest review scores and although there aren’t many, there may be some you’re interested in. The sublime Ori and the Will of the Wisps takes the crown this week with an impressive 36/40 score. Personally, it’s well deserved as it runs great on Nintendo Switch, has a fantastic story and some of the most fine-tuned platforming mechanics to date. You can check out the full list of scores below:
- AVICII Invector (PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – 8/8/8/8 [32/40]
- Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time (PS4, Xbox One) – 8/9/8/8 [33/40]
- Genshin Impact (PS4) – 9/9/9/8 [35/40]
- Jet Set Knights (PS4, Switch) – 7/7/8/7 [29/40]
- Ori and the Will of the Wisps (Switch) – 9/9/10/8 [36/40]
- The Park (Switch) – 6/6/6/8 [26/40]
- Tamiku (PS4, Switch) – 6/7/7/5 [25/40]
Runs great on the Switch? Are you f***ing kidding me? It was my first experience playing and finishing an Ori game and I absolutely hated it.
In every game session, the game crashed on me. I was also stuck in places I couldn’t get out of because of numerous glitches. The only way to get out was to load an old save file and lose a couple of hours worth of progress.
It was so laggy and glitchy to the point that it takes so much away from the experience. Do yourself a favor and take your money elsewhere (until they patch it).
Think your copy/download may well be defective then, because the Ori 2 Switch port is literally one of the most accomplished ports of recent years from a technical perspective: https://youtu.be/kH6wTpIObxE
