As of this post’s writing, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is available to play in regions that include Australia, Japan, and all of Europe. Because of this, fans have begun to live stream it on Twitch and YouTube. Unfortunately, it has become clear that Nintendo really doesn’t want you to do that for the time being.
Multiple streamers are reporting via Twitter that their accounts have been banned for streaming Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. Nintendo has been issuing claims citing “copyright infringement” and/or gameplay from an “unreleased video game”, and this is the reason behind the decision to ban the streamers. The bans are temporary ones that will last for 48 hours.
Nintendo sure is on a roll today. At least these are only temp bans.
Nintendo, I love you, but seriously, lighten the hell up on your stupid copyright practices will ya? Be nice to your fans, and let them stream on Twitch and YouTube!
If you are going to try to spoil the game for those that don’t have it before it even releases, you deserve to be banned. If it were up to me, it’d be a permanent ban, but oh well.

the game is already out in multiple regions. And people who want to avoid spoilers are always free to not watch streams of the game

It was NOT before it’s released. The streamer were playing a legal copy that was already out in their country. People that don’t read articles before commenting deserved to be banned. If it were up to me; it’d be a permanent ban, but oh well some people are just really lazy.

It’s a bit OTT. I can understand unofficial leaked video game footage being distributed before a game releases anywhere, but a couple days for a game with different region release dates is a bit extreme.
It’s not rocket science, but if you don’t want to see spoilers for a game then just hold fire on clicking on YouTube vids etc. Simple!

This is a perfect example of Nintendo banning the WRONG PEOPLE. The people who should be banned are ones who have violated NDA entirely. One particular channel with around 374k subscribers has uploaded gameplay videos BEFORE the Japanese release date, but they have not been taken down nor have those videos been issued with a copyright strike.
This is what happens when they got so greedy.
Mmm some gamers never learn. I know the game is getting close on being out witch is at midnight, but Nintendo is making sure that gamers won’t spoiled the game from everyone who hasn’t got theirs yet.
This can either be good media for nintendo or it could turn off those that were originally gonna buy the game to be turned off by spoilers or maybe didnt like the gameplay.
Yikes, Nintendo is just pouring gasoline onto a flame at this point. From giving C&D to fan games to now, giving streamers a ban. It’s not a permanent ban but still awful regardless. I wish Nintendo would get better with this stuff. I like Nintendo, and I enjoy their content but, when they C&D people making fan games from nothing to them now using the copyright system to stop streamers, you have to wonder what is going on within Nintendo.

Smash Ultimate was illegally selled one week or month earlier before the release. That’s why Nintendo took action. But in this case it’s a bit strange because the game is supposed to be out already.
Yeah true, but thankfully, Nintendo know what they are doing and streamers and gamers know better then that. I understand some people don’t like to be spoiled before they get there games, but some users and streamers think that Nintendo don’t understand streaming at all, well people who deny Nintendo’s choice for taken there videos down on Twitch and YouTube don’t understand and don’t follow Nintendo’s policies. This is what happens when they got so greedy.
Completely reasonable. Let’s be honest… A streamer is technically doing a business and attempting to profit off being the first one to show off the game. Now if Nintendo was doing something like banning Switches that played the game early? Yeah, that’d be pretty messed up. But yeah… These streamers bought a game and could play it without issue. They didn’t HAVE to stream it early.
The game is already out though.
Yeah we notice that but Twitch streamers and youtubers got there copy of the game and play it earlier of a day before the release. So, yeah. That’s karma.

I think Nintendo is really wasting their time Di-nasty warriors is crap…..and the first hyrule warriors was crap….who cares if they stream this garbage game. Seriously enemies just stand there and do nothing? People play that game?
I didn’t bought this game but I understand your point. Personally Warriors games were funny 10 years ago. Now it’s just beat them all as you can. Repeat the same attacks until it’s done. Kinda lame in comparison to Breath of the Wild. That game you can do many things and there isn’t one specific way to complete a task.
Those Warriors game it’s just conquer the territory or defeat the boss. That’s it.

To be honest, I think this is fair. There should probably be a rule to force content creators to wait at least one month after the game’s official release before streaming and uploading any gameplay of the game on YouTube & Twitch with the 48 hour bans being the punishment, this way it would stay fair for all Game Developers to get their proper share of sales, but that’s just my opinion in the matter.
Change the title! Nintendo IS NOT BANNING STREAMERS!!! They are filing copyright claims, which is their right! Twitch is the company that is banning its streamers NOT NINTENDO!!!!
