Atlus says its working on resolving technical issues in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster

The long-awaited remaster of Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD finally launched on the Nintendo Switch recently in Japan, but there have been complaints from Japanese consumers that the game is a bit of a technical mess. Atlus has taken to its blog to announce that they are working hard on resolving the issues that players have faced including bugs, glitches, and frame rate issues. This means that things should be fixed by the time Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne HD Remaster launches in the west this spring on Switch.

  1. So Japan are the guinea pigs for this game? Joking aside, they rarely release games in a broken mess and are one of few companies that do make quality games with a bunch of content and making DLC as extras. Basically they aren’t, Bethesda, Activision, Ubisoft and especially they aren’t EA

    1. Well they pretty much are if they release a 60 usd “remaster” that solves non of the issues in the original, improves on it or even makes something to make it look better.
      They’re as bad as EA, Actiblizz and Nintendo, because not a single company in 2020 is excused of BS beta testing a game and later patching it. Delay it if you see it’s not polished or finished

They are pretty much like them but we barely notice it because like you said (even if it was a joke) the japanese are the guinea pigs for most of their games, it’s usually fixed in the english release since they take so long to localize their games. P5R for example had save corruption issues and bugs that prevented progression in Japan.

  2. Huh, I thought they promised Nocturne would launch simultaneously in the whole world and not in Japan first like they usually do.

    I guess it was just a fever dream I had.

    1. They promised SMT 5 to have a simultaneous worldwide release in 2021, i don’t think they said the same for Nocturne HD.
