metroid dread launch trailer

MercurySteam, the talented developers behind the critically acclaimed Metroid Dread, have announced that they are busy working on their new project which is codenamed, Project Iron, which is described by the company as a a third person action RPG set in a dark fantasy world. The company has teamed up with Digital Bros and publisher 505 Games. Project Iron is a multi-platform game, so hopefully the Nintendo Switch is included. We shall have to wait and see.

“We are thrilled to work with the team at MercurySteam, a proven studio that over the years has created numerous phenomenal IPs – including the recent hit release Metroid Dread in partnership with Nintendo. With MercurySteam’s creative vision and talent and 505 Games extensive experience, gamers can expect a high-quality, captivating and engaging videogame.”

  1. There is one developer that had a plan to start a new project immediately after Dread was finished. Too bad I cant say the same for most of them. I cant wait to see what this game will.be like. So because they started immediately after Dread was finished, we should see this before 2027-2028.

    1. By the numbers, it would be a really dumb idea for them to be working on a sequel to Dread. It fell off the sales charts immediately. There isn’t much chance Nintendo turns around and doubles down on that use of money.

Note: I liked Dread, this isn’t an issue of quality. Just an FYI before gaming forums go all gaming forum on me.

  2. Im sure they did a wonderful job with metroid dread but only with guidance from nintendo. Lets see how they do without them. Blow our mind and empty our wallets.

    1. What was the last successful Metroid game made by Nintendo? Fusion? Which is hotly debated for its design choices drifting away from the spirit of the franchise? That places Nintendo in a solid 20 year draught from making their own decent Metroid games.
