Emily Rogers: Intelligent Systems’ next Fire Emblem project is nearly finished with development

It’s been almost 3 years since the last Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, released for Nintendo Switch, and fans have been clamoring to know when they can expect to see the next entry in the series. A sequel to the Koei Tecmo developed spin-off Fire Emblem Warriors was announced in the latest Nintendo Direct, but according to prominent leaker and industry insider Emily Rogers, Nintendo might be planning to launch, or at the very least announce, even more Fire Emblem content for 2022.

Emily has shared that the next unannounced Fire Emblem has been in development for over 3 years at Intelligent Systems, with a “support studio” assisting them, and that the game is “nearly finished.” She claims an October 2022 release is possible, but is unsure if Nintendo will push it to early 2023 due to their Fall schedule for 2022 already containing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and, presumably, Bayonetta 3.

As for her own speculation, she thinks Bayonetta 3 may not be enough, at least in terms of sales expectation, to carry a month on its own, and believes it would be smart for Nintendo to pair a game like Fire Emblem, or perhaps the rumored Metroid Prime HD, alongside it.

She also points out Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia and Fire Emblem Warriors both released in 2017, so it wouldn’t be too absurd to see two different FE games launched in the same year, with Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes already announced for 24th June 2022.

Rumors have been circulating since last year that a remake of a classic Fire Emblem may be in the works, with insider/leaker Zippo claiming that development on it was almost complete back in July, so we’ll have to wait and see if that’s the same game that Emily is referring to.

  1. You know, I never thought I would be saying this, but people like her are getting really good with these type of things about stuff that is related to Nintendo franchises like the new major Fire Emblem game which it has not been leaked yet. I know Nintendo want to kept things a secret to Nintendo fans. What’s next Emily and her buds are gonna leak this time that has not been said by Nintendo. New Donkey Kong game?

      1. and the guesses she makes that make people trust her are usually the “safe” ones. You still have people praising her for the Paper Mario leak 6 years later, and we’re due for another Fire Emblem announcement since Three Houses has been 3 years ago. My friends and I were actually anticipating a new mainline title in the recent direct.

      2. Yeah that is correct. But in the beginning, I don’t know if I should trust her sources about these leaks she mentions instead of providing real evidence to back it up. But she was right about her sources a few times like Nintendo Switch reveal in October.
