Rumor: A remake of a Fire Emblem game is almost complete

You may recall that, back in April, rumors surfaced that remakes of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn were being made for the Nintendo Switch. Although the rumor’s credibility has since been called into question, another Fire Emblem-related rumor of a similar type has now appeared.

This time, it comes from Zippo, a leaker/insider. According to Zippo, not only is a Fire Emblem remake being developed for the Nintendo Switch, but the game’s development is almost complete. He doesn’t know, exactly, what game is being remade, but he does tell Fire Emblem fans to “have some patience” because “you’re gonna be eating good before too long”. His full remarks about the matter are down below.

“Yes, this is very much happening. What I do not know currently is which Fire Emblem game is being remade. Fans seem to be split between either Genealogy of the Holy War, or The Burning Blade [sic, meant The Binding Blade]. Either would make sense, considering both titles have never seen an English language release. Again, I’ve been told once again that this is a game that is nearly complete, so I see Nintendo sitting on it until they’re good and ready to make [and when] I know more, I will make an update. Have some patience FE fans, you’re gonna be eating good before too long.”

  1. Credible informant: definitely will be announced at E3.
    Nintendo: we have other ideas.
Credible informant: Nintendo will announce it any minute now.
Nintendo: we what’s going on not you guys and if we leak stuff ourselves we will.

  2. Considering his track record and pretty much everything he’s said so far has come true, I’m gonna say this is likely true.
As for what game; I sure as hell hope it’s Roy’s game, that dood deserves a remake considering how iconic he is to Fire Emblem.

  3. Please let this game have casual mode and support. I don’t expect any time-traveling or Deeprealm children, just some meaningful interactions with all the units you try to keep alive and not miss your chance to recruit.

    1. If it is Genealogy/Thracia they’re likely going to lean on time travel to justify it.

  4. I’ve been dreaming of a Three Houses’ style remake of Binding Blade and Blazing Blade where you play Eliwood’s story (Monastery phase) and then Roy’s story after Zephiel goes Daenerys (time skip / war phase).

    1. Actually “The Burning Blade” might be a slightly different translation of the prequel/sequel. Fire Emblem 6 is The Blazing Blade (perhaps translated as Burning), and Fire Emblem 7, released in North America simply as “Fire Emblem” was known as The Binding Blade or more loosely the Sword of Seals…
Or I might have those 2 labeled backwards. Whichever one is which, one is Binding Blade the other is Blazing Blade.

  5. although many of these comments are asking for an fe6 remake and claiming it deserves it, I absolutely believe that fe4 deserves it a whole lot more. Jugdral’s story is magnificent and deserves more attention as it is beautiful. It would also make a lot more sense to remake 4 next, as 1,2,3 have already been done. also, roy sucks

  6. It’s gonna be Genealogy and maybe Thracia too; so far Fire Emblem remakes have followed the original release schedule, the DS got a remake of the original and its sequel, then the 3DS got Gaiden, next in line is the Genealogy/Thracia era, it’s not gonna be Binding Blade.

  7. People really want a Genealogy and Thracia remake, preferably with playable characters that weren’t playable in the original game. I’d prefer both games to be playable from the beginning if they’re in a combination cartridge, but unlocking Thracia after completing part 1 of Genealogy works too.
