Splatoon 3 using Nintendo’s new in-house server system NPLN

Dataminers have noticed that the forthcoming Splatoon 3 will take full advantage of Nintendo’s new in-house server system which is named, NPLN. This has allowed the Kyoto-based company to introduce the new lobby system in the highly-anticipated game, which is much more flexible and quicker than the NEX server system which was used for Splatoon 2. The new lobby system for Splatoon 3 allows players to quickly see which multiplayer mode your friends playing and then join them in mid-battle. You can even call out to friends to let them know that you’re available to team up. There’s a whole lot more which you can read about here.

I do still wish they’d make dedicated servers though.
