SNK: Terry always planned as series Smash Bros Ultimate representative

One of the additional downloadable characters for the mighty Super Smash Bros Ultimate was Terry Bogard from the King of the Fighters series. In a recent interview, SNK’s Yasuyuki Oda said they had no absolutely qualms about picking who they wanted represented for the long-running series in Super Smash Bros Ultimate when it was announced that a King of the Fighters character would be featured in the game. It was always going to Terry as Mr. Oda felt that he is the face of the franchise.

“Yeah, I mean, I don’t know where that rumor came from exactly, because it was originally planned from the beginning that it would be Terry [Bogard], but thinking about it now, it just goes to show that there are a lot of fans out there. The community and would really love to see her in games like that in the future.”

  1. The original article was talking about Nakoruru and how she was never considered in the first.
It seems like they were talking about the Milk-BOSATU leak, which ultimately led to nowhere in the end.

Sorta feel bad for them to notice that bombardment as Smash fans take rumours, that which been agreed on, to heart.

You are welcome. Also, I think Terry is supposed to represent the Fatal Fury series rather then the KOF series in Smash, the KOF series has always been represented by Kyo Kusanagi and Iori Yagami (the latter appearing as a Mii costume in Ultimate).

And like ZXXZ said, the original article was talking about how Samurai Shodown’s Nakoruru was never considered as a possible playable SNK rep for Ultimate.
