Microsoft has revealed that Nintendo made nearly $1 billion in revenue last year from Nintendo Switch Online subscriptions. The news was revealed as the Microsoft and Activision merger was approved by Brazilian regulator CADE. We learnt that Nintendo Switch Online had 32 million subscribers as of September 2021 and that the Nintendo Switch Online service made up 31% of Nintendo’s total digital revenues ($3.054 billion) and 8% of the company’s overall dedicated video games earnings ($14.350 billion). The basic Nintendo Switch Online tier is the cheapest online subscription service in comparison to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack, Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Sony’s new PlayStation Plus tiers; PlayStation Plus Essential, PlayStation Plus Extra and finally PlayStation Plus Premium.
Nintendo Switch Online apparently made $932 million in 2021

Sooo… they really don’t have an excuse anymore, right?
For what?
low quality of it
Probably the lack of quality. With that amount of revenue, surely SOME of it could go towards improvements to the service.. I’m still regularly getting “A communication error has occurred” notifications in Splatoon 3, despite the patch- a few days ago I had four in a row mere seconds after queuing for games.
An online experience on par with their competitors.
What do you mean by that? I’m confuse.
What do you think revenue tells you about Nintendo’s online service? Do you know what revenue means?
Revenue is something you “made”. Because revenues do not belong to the company. They don’t keep that money, they get to keep what they profit. They get to keep their net income. This article is misleading a lot of people who are ignorant of finance.

Not one comment mentioned “profits” or anything confusing revenue with profits… except your comment when you made a typo.
