Final Fantasy series has shipped 173 million units, Dragon Quest 85 million & Kingdom Hearts 36 million

Square Enix has provided some updated sales figures for some of their biggest series such as Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. The Final Fantasy series which was created back in 1987 has now shipped over 173 million units, the Dragon Quest series of games have shifted 85 million and the beloved Kingdom Hearts series has moved over 36 million units. The updated sales figures were provided by Square Enix in its 2022 annual report.

“I am pleased to report that the Group set new records for full-year net sales (¥365.2 billion) and all its profit lines (operating income of ¥59.2 billion, ordinary income of ¥70.7 billion, and profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥51 billion) in the fiscal year ended March 2022, which was the first year of the Medium-Term Earnings Targets and Business Strategy that we unveiled in May 2021.”

  1. Can’t wait for Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate.

    Star Ocean The Divine Force has one of the uglyest protagonist I’ve ever seen. The other party members look legit, but the protagonist look’s like he’s got an anime wig. I hope Star Ocean The Divine Force gets some cosmetic dlc for custom characters. Although besides the pre-order dlc Star Ocean 5 never got any additional content. The excuse they used was “additional content doesn’t sell good outside of a Japanese marketplace” As appose to every other game that got additional content.

    The Divine Force is definitely worth it, just the protagonist is fugly even for anime standards.
