Konami teasing ‘new developments for familiar series’ and new projects for 2023 & beyond

Long established video game development studio and publisher, Konami, has teased plenty of new video game projects and new developments on familiar series are in the works this year. Sadly, the company would not elaborate in its New Year message, but there have been rumours of Metal Gear Solid and Castlevania remakes and remasters doing the rounds for a while now. The Japanese company is also known to outsource some of its properties to other developers such as the recently announced Silent Hill 2 remake, which is being developed by Polish developer, Bloober Team.

“This year is the year of the Rabbit, so we are planning power-ups and new developments for familiar series with the aiming of leaping even further. Additionally, we’re deeply and quietly progressing on new project(s) that we have yet to announce to you all. Konami is leaping forward, so by all means please stay tuned.”

  1. I wish they’d do something proper with the castlevania series, not just wack together a compilation, but maybe a remake of sotn, or an entirely new game maybe

  2. With Silent Hill finally getting new entries in the franchise after so many years, I’m hopeful towards Konami.

A new Mystical Ninja game would be nice. A remaster of the N64 game would be great, too. Loved the music in some of the locations. Especially the snow area. Maybe copy Squeenix & make the N64 game a remake like Squeenix did Trials of Mana. I like how some of their remakes let you choose between the new soundtrack made for the remake or the old soundtrack from the original.
