The UK monthly charts are in for February and these include both video game software and hardware sales. It was a good month for the game industry as 2.8 million console and PC games were sold across the UK during February which is up 11% over the year before. Sony’s PlayStation 5 seems to be dominating at the moment with Games Industry reporting that sales are up 180% year to date and were up 300% last month, Microsoft’s Xbox Series X|S consoles came in second place last month, though sales were worryingly down 5.3% year to date, considering they are newish systems, and the Nintendo Switch family of systems came in third place with sales down 29%. The best-selling video game during February 2023 was Hogwarts Legacy which has seems to have had exceptionally strong sales across the board and is the best-selling game of the year so far.

Can’t wait until WWE2k23 releases, the wargames match is gonna be crazy. Excited to see all the new CAW creation items, and hopefully they improved MyFaction match types so every match isn’t just 1v1 or 3v3 normal tag. MyFaction needs a wider variety of match types like tornado tag, 3v3 TLC, 3v3 HIAC etc They need match types with different stipulations besides just 1v1 or 3v3 normal tag matches.
I hated the micro transaction dlc for WWE2k22 for individual card packs. If 2k shutdowns the servers for WWE2k22 when WWE2k23 releases just because 2k23 is the newest installment as a means of forcing the fanbase to purchase 2k23 that means any virtual currency or micro transaction dlc is un useable. They usually shutdown NBA games once the newest installment releases as a means of forcing the fanbase to purchase the newest installment, hopefully the dev’s don’t follow the same route for WWE games. Because MyFaction is the only game mode that requires a constant Internet connect, if they shutdown WWE2k22 servers then MyFaction will be unplayable.
The PS5 deserves its sales, it’s a fantastic console, Nintendo can’t keep up the momentum forever, but games sales are exceedingly fantastic for the switch 😁 keep churning out those great selling games Nintendo! 😁

I like that you can actually find Series Xes and PS5s online now without having to watch the stock numbers like a hawk or pay extra from a scalper. Maybe someday soon I’ll be able to pick up one or the other to go with my old Switch.
I would wait for the updated models Slim/Pro , although it’s said that it won’t be a slim this time. I always wait 2-3 years until they release the slim , than you have a bunch of games you want for 10-30 bucks aswell and a solid console withouth the baby diseases.
They say production starts in April , we should get news somewhere early this year and production of the old model stops in October if I remember correct , they want to release the new model this autumn probally september. These are pretty much confirmed rumors btw. The boss of Sony said we would get news about it early this year and the factory’s where the consoles are made have been noticed about this same info.
Finally! Now we can look at announcement for the new much needed upgraded models. Been waiting for sales to start declining
Nintendo has crappy games and weak hardware. Crazy, it’s 2023, still can’t find a ps5 or Series console in stores. Already at halfway mark this gen, prob better off just waiting for PS6/Xbox 5 in 2025

Ps5 has almost no exclusive games. Most are crossgen with some little gfx update (almost nothing, or on PC anyway.)

You are way better off with xbox then buying a ps5. Correct controller layout, has activision, blizzard, bethesda, rare. Gamepass with cloud streaming, or the whole integration of online is much better.

Wait what hahahaha. The PS5 and Xbox X for the first time in history had hardware that even PC didn’t have yet when they got released. (Look it up yourself there are tons of articles where this is mentiont)
Also your comparing the Switch to the PS5 that has been out for just 2 years. You should compare it to the PS4 (wich is the same gen) wich has over 40 games rated between 9-10 even on websites like gamespot that rarely give these kind of ratings and metric scores. Switch has far , far , far less. At the end of PS5 the same will be the case it always has been this way. Don’t get me wrong I like Nintendo and they make some great games but you are saying allot of things that simply ain’t true. I haven’t even touched software sales that are nearly 50% higher on just one console.
No matter if you’re a Nintendo fanperson or not, I think we can all agree that the Nintendo Switch is showing its age at this point. It’s high time that Nintendo moves on to their next horizon. And especially in a time when we know that Xbox and Playstation will not be releasing a new console until at least 2025, Nintendo would have the benefit of releasing a console into a “stagnant” market. This isn’t to say that PS5 or the Xbox Series are in anyway stagnant themselves. They offer fantastic performance and a great library of games. However, it’s simply fact that if Nintendo releases a console at a time where no other new consoles are being released, sales should, alone, be higher. I think the Nintendo library is fantastic in its own right, even when compared to competitors. However, that should not blind you from the fact that the hardware is heavily dated and, even in Nintendo’s own games, it shows.
You are one of the first people I have seen on this website with half a brain. People also often forget that Switch sold well because they released it in a different time when everyone already owned a ps4/xbox and sales went up when the Ps5 and Xbox X werent available cause of shortages. People also often buy it as an extra thing.
I’m not sure if releasing it this year is the best time though , Sony is releasing a new model that will be more available , the library is getting bigger and games from the first 3 years will be 5-30 bucks. Generaly this is the time when everyone starts buying one. Unless they make a more powerfull console that can handle full third party support.
