Rumour: Zelda Tears of the Kingdom news could possibly be coming on Tuesday

Multiple YouTubers at this week’s PAX East event have said that they have heard through the grapevine that new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom information could be shared by Nintendo on Tuesday. It has been a while since we’ve had any concrete details about the game, though we were treated to a Tears of the Kingdom trailer during the last Nintendo Direct presentation in February. Whether anything transpires from these rumours remains to be seen. If we hear anything official from Nintendo, then we will certainly let you know.

  1. “It has been a while since we’ve had any concrete details about the game” – arguably we’ve never really heard any concrete details about the game. What do we honestly know about the game about this point? It will be set in the same world as BotW with some added sky islands, it will release on 12th May and its subtitle is Tears of the Kingdom. We can infer some other details from the trailers, but we really do not know a lot at all. Whilst I think it’s not necessarily a bad thing that they’re choosing to not spoil too much of the game pre-launch (at least so far), I do think it would be nice to know a little bit of what’s new that we can look forward to. We really are just buying this game on the strength of the IP alone at this point.

    1. I actually do agree with you on this, but I do want to point out that the Zelda analysis channels have done a lot of work looking into these trailers. There’s a lot of hidden stuff not explicitly stated in the trailers that they’ve highlighted. One of these being that the huge labyrinths appear to be flying in the air alongside the floating islands. Those labyrinths have lore to them from the first game, so there’s a lot that can be inferred with this notion.

But again, it’s all inference. Personally, I’ve been enjoying this marketing, but I’m also afraid that this strategy is gonna come back to bite them in some way. But then again, it’s supposedly the most anticipated game release of this half of the year.

Idk. At this point we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. I’ll be shocked if this strategy works as well as it appears to be, but I’m still glad that they’re doing it this way- I spoiled myself too much on BotW’s marketing and I wish I’d gone into it blind. It’s already hard enough as it is for me to resist looking into the leaked art book lol

  2. What would be nice is if Nintendo allow you to play in a master quest difficulty from the base game ( b4 completing it too ), not after an update when your already at least halfway through the game.
