Super Mario Bros. Movie has grossed over $1.1 billion worldwide

To say that The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been successful would be a massive understatement. The movie has been available to watch in theaters for a few weeks now, and it has been breaking records just about everywhere, including at the North American box office, every single week.

This weekend, Nintendo and Illumination’s movie was finally knocked out of the top spot in North America’s box office by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The Mario movie had been #1 for 4 straight weekends. However, that doesn’t mean that there was nothing for both companies to be happy about with this weekend’s sales. The movie still made it to second place in North America’s box office this weekend, and it has now been confirmed that the movie has surpassed $1,100,000,000 worldwide.

    1. Well I think you haven’t been checking news at all.

      So here :- It took “The Super Mario Bros Movie” merely 5 days to pass Sonic the hedgehog,detective pikachu and wacraft to become the first Video game movie to pass 500 Million $ and then, 600 , 700 , 800 ,900, 1 Billion AND 1.1 Billion. It’s is for now the 5th Highest grossing animated film of all time. And 24th highest Grossing film of all time.

      Lastly I am also a fan of sonic the hedgehog 1,2 and also a mario fan so I am happy with the performances of both the films.

  1. You know, this movie only grossed so much because it was an entertaining movie that people wanted to see. Take away those aspects and you’d have a pretty mediocre movie.

    1. I see what you did there. Genius.
      Nintendo has money for a sequel and five Nintendo super Mario bros. Games now.

      F=ma.

  2. The Super Mario Bros Movie is way better than Guardians of the Galaxy, that movie is stupid, that’s my own opinion.

  3. Wait a sec…i remember that Sega said that sonic the hedgehog 2 was the highest grossing videogame adaptation (at that point) ever and watching the list it didn’t surpass detective Pikachu, of course i may be wrong but if i don’t then Sega lied?
