It would appear as though GameStop is preparing to change its rewards system for subscribers with GameStop Pro replacing the current GameStop Power Up Rewards, from next month. The company says in an internal document that GameStop Pro will “deliver a new simplified, valuable program that gives members more reasons to shop at GameStop for their favourite games, collectibles, and more.”
Subscribers will be able to get an additional 5% off the following: all collectibles, toys, trading cards, and apparel, all pre owned products, all GameStop product protection plans in store, all GameStop brand products except gift cards, all clearance and those discounts stack with existing promos. From 1st December, any points more than 12 months old will expire and if you don’t renew your sub, your points will also expire. The big news is that the overall price will increase to $25 a year though it should be noted that all of the previous benefits will still be available. The change reportedly comes into affect on 27th June.

“Trading cards” new or used trading cards?
A madman recently shopped at 50 different Gamestops (one in each US state) and spent a total of $2,669.55 on a Powerups Rewards Membership. This gave him 59,324 lifetime points which is the equivalent of $59.
$59 dollars 💀💀💀 naww that’s crazy
That’s can’t be accurate as a GameStop employee he should have had 133,000 points which would be $133. It’s twenty points per dollar you spend. Simple math.
Im already a Power Up Rewards member, what happens to existing members do we automatically become Pro members or do we gotta upgrade are membership? Why don’t they just have 2 membership packages and the customers decided if they wanna be a Power Up Rewards member or a Pro member.
You are grandfathered into the new program.
I used to love gamestop for their used games. I went constantly to buy them. But now they dont have hardly any used games and none of the ones they got are under $20 except rarely. I never go to the store right down the street anymore because theres no deals on videogames to be found there nowdays.
You would have to spend $500 in a year to break even on the membership. Not worth my time since I can buy anything they have cheaper at multiple places and even when you get a lot of their used games they are in a generic case which for the price should not happen period.
What are you talking about? you get $5 free every month, that’s $60. 60-25=35. You net $35 by having a membership. Numbers are hard aren’t they.
Where’d you see you get 5$ free every month under the new system? That’s the old system, you just get 5%.
How much do you need to spend to recover $25 with 5%? $500
And it looks like the discount isn’t even on new games.
garbo
As an employee I can tell you the monthly coupon has not been removed from the new membership you will still get it. This person is only reporting what they know.
The $5 monthly reward will continue.
Maybe people should stop stealing empty cases of the shelves and when people brink in games without the cases for trade we make generic cases. Look I’m a collector I don’t take no game that does not have cover art. But that’s my choice. Doesn’t mean gamestops wrong for having games without cover art come on.
Not true. So it goes up to twenty five dollars 5 dollars off every month is still a 60 dollar value. Now your already in the plus 35 dollars already made your money back then you get 5% back on the above things clearance items, pre-owned items, collectibles, GameStop brand, toys. Etc as an employee and a gamer and someone who has been threw this when it went from the elite pro to pro they account is still of great value. Do the math it’s simple you were only getting 2%.
Wtf this is so stupid
