Super Mario Bros. Movie is now the 18th highest-grossing movie ever at Box Office

To say that The Super Mario Bros. Movie has been a huge success for both Nintendo and Illumination would be an understatement, as the movie has outperformed everyone’s expectations. It has now come to light that the Super Mario Bros Movie is the 18th highest grossing movie at the box office ever and it could continue to climb those ranks reasonably quickly. The beautifully animated film already ranks above both Frozen ($1.28 billion) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ($1.31 billion), bringing in $1.314 billion globally. Chris Pratt, who is the voice behind Mario in the movie, also recently assured fans of the movie to stay tuned for news on the inevitable sequel, which will be shared once the ongoing writers strike is over.

    1. With all that extra revenue, ot can be used to make a console that can last 20+ years without consumers paying for a new console every 5+ years. That’s what Nintendo wants to do anyway. So future proof the next console to last 20 years.

Had they future proofed the Switch, it could take on the PS7 and 3rd party games by that generation.

      1. You clearly have no clue about how console or game design works. I miss the days when you actually rhymed like Gruntilda making funny comments instead of complaining day in and day out or asking for completely unrealistic requests.
