Yoko Shimomura will be returning to compose Super Mario RPG remake

Yoko Shimomura has confirmed that she is thankfully at the helm of the soundtrack to the newly announced Super Mario RPG remake for the Nintendo Switch family of systems. The acclaimed Japanese composer told fans on Twitter “I put all my heart into arranging all the songs, hoping that both the fans of the original and those playing for the first time can enjoy it!” Fans can get their hands on Super Mario RPG on Nintendo Switch when it launches on 17th November.

  1. When I first saw this, I thought this was a new Mario RPG game because I never played thr game from NES. I can’t wait for this!!!

  2. I literally cannot wait to hear the remix of “Beware the Forest’s Mushrooms”, it’s one of my favourite pieces of music in all of gaming and knowing Yoko is the one who’s doing the remix makes me even more excited for it!

  3. Too bad I played the original so many damn times (and fairly recently)… this almost looks boring to me.

    However, very glad it happened.
    Day one purchase… as this was always the best Mario RPG.

  4. I played the og Super Mario RPG but it’s been awhile since i played it, The Super Mario RPG is already available for pre-order via the Nintendo Eshop for $59.99
