Marvel wants their games to live up to full potential, reportedly looking at internal shift going forward

Marvel’s The Avengers video game, developed by Square Enix, clearly didn’t live up to either the fans’ expectations or Marvel’s internal expectations. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to hear that the popular entertainment company feels that their range of games has not been reaching its full potential. The team at Marvel is apparently looking at a large internal shift regarding how their games are developed, and they reportedly believe that this shift will happen with EA’s upcoming Black Panther and Iron Man video games. We will have to wait and see how they turn out as they are both a long way off.

    1. Aside from Spiderman games, Iron man VR, and the new volverine what other game is exclusive to PS? Every other Marvel game is multiplat, and even that VR game and Spider-Man are PC games, and Volverine being a FOX/Disney ip, and not owned by Sony it’s definitely being ported to another console in the future. So my question is, how do you comment with so much confidence and are so factually wrong ALL the time?

  1. I recently played Avengers a couple of months ago. And I’m glad I did it after all the problems it had during launch (and after).
Actually a half decent game. Decent campaign mode, they did a great job with the characters and powers. Yes its repetitive but it was fun.
I think if they didn’t try and force the loot / monetise model down people throats it could’ve been good.
Guardians of the Galaxy was also an excellent title

  2. I enjoyed Spiderman and Spiderman Miles Morales, can’t wait until Spiderman 2 releases on October 20th.

  3. I liked guardians of the Galaxy , but after the woes of aavengers game, it wasn’t surprising that people were hesitant to purchase guardians. Guardians was definitely their best work, and played so well on my steam deck.
