Rumor: Nintendo finding more partners to work on games based on Nintendo IPs

Nintendo-related rumors have been flying all over the place for the last few days, and not just because of the next Nintendo console. However, for a console to be successful, there obviously needs to be games. That said, part of why Nintendo has been able to release so many first-party games is because the company has been collaborating with multiple studios to do so. There is a new rumor that has appeared today suggesting that Nintendo is looking into finding even more studios to collaborate with.

You see, GamesIndustry head Christopher Dring said in an article published today that “I also know that Nintendo is actively meeting with independent developers to find new partners. Some of that is around publishing indie games, which Nintendo does from time-to-time, but it’s also seeking studios that could work on some of its IP. Nintendo regularly works with third-party teams, including Bandai Namco, Team Ninja, Platinum Games, MercurySteam, WayForward and Grezzo. But the company is looking to add to that roster, and I know of three studios that are deep in conversation around making games based on Nintendo brands”

    1. The third one should get remade using the 2D artstyle of the first two. I LOVED how awesome the pixel art was in them. Golden Sun should be one of Ninty’s games that stay “retro”. Release it in a triple pak as the first two can just be HD remasters.

  1. A new Pokemon Conquest, Capcom with a new Zelda game would be nice (although Fujibayashi is already at Nintendo) and a new Atlus Nintendo Collaboration, not necessarily a Fire emblem crossover, but maybe they can make something new with Samus.
