Bandai Namco unveils Studio 2 & Studio S: the powerhouse behind Nintendo collaborations

Bandai Namco has taken a significant step in formalizing its collaboration with Nintendo by officially announcing Studio 2 & Studio S. This internal studio has been actively engaged in commissioned projects with Nintendo for several years, contributing to the development of iconic titles such as Super Smash Bros for 3DS & Wii U, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, Mario Kart Deluxe, Mario Kart Tour, Arms, and Mario Sports Superstars.

The newly formalized Studio 2 & Studio S is described as a team of professionals specializing in contracted development projects. The studio has played a crucial role in the creation of world-class titles, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining high quality in game development. The team, consisting of 152 employees, includes a notable 32% of new graduates, showcasing a blend of experienced professionals and fresh talent.

On the studio’s official website, a statement expresses the team’s dedication to producing top-tier titles in the future, inviting the participation of highly motivated creators. The site also features job listings that provide insights into ongoing collaborations with Nintendo. Notably, some listings hint at a “3D action game project commissioned by Nintendo,” while others seek individuals for game design roles focused on developing consumer games commissioned by Nintendo.
