The Nintendo Switch‘s successor has not been announced yet, but there has been all sorts of rumors, insider information, and more that have been creating a lot of fan speculation and theories. All signs are pointing to an announcement soon. However, the rumor mill continues to churn for now, and a new development in the road to the hardware’s reveal may interest some of you.
You see, the Game Developers Conference, or GDC for short, released their 2024 State of the Game Industry report earlier today. One of the things included in the report was a survey of over 3,000 developers. The devs were asked about their work and the gaming industry. One question revealed that 8% of developers are currently working on a video game for the Nintendo Switch’s successor, and another question confirmed that 32% of developers are excited for Nintendo‘s Switch successor.

I feel at this point we could expect an announcement some time this year however I’m not fully 100% it will come out this year.
I have the same feeling as well. So, I’m gonna say they are going to reveal it between the summer or fall.
They should just reveal it in the next couple of months. It’s about as secret as Pikachu being in the gen 10 games.
My brothers best friend, sisters uncle on her moms side knows a guy who works for Nintendo and they said the Switch successor will release 2 days before the day after tomorrow.
I love Pokémon and Nintendo Switch but will they just start talking because everyone else is trying to get them finally something I mean they will do it when it’s time yes I’m excited about 2024 and a new console system and games but nothing has been said yet
Will not sorry about that writing
I’m not big on numbers when it comes to this part of the video game world, but is this a good thing or a bad thing?
Considering there isn’t an official announcement, I’d say it’s a good thing we already have people working on it. Plus 8% by itself doesn’t mean much – there are tons of developers and, as long as some of the most important ones *because no console can survive with just indies) are in, it’s alright.
Still I’m not counting the sucessor to be released this year, unless it’s at December. There’s still a lot of things to come to the Switch in the meantime, not to mention the period between announcement and actual release. So I’m banking on 2025 at the earliest.
Gotcha: thank you for clarifying, homie🤗
The other 92% are sticking to their NDA with Nintendo, I guess!
