Gaming leaker claims Switch 2 reveal set for March, next Direct likely Partner Direct

Nintendo switch (oled model)

Nate Drake from the ResetEra forums has said on his recent podcast, about all things Nintendo, that the company will be revealing the successor to the Switch in March. His comments were also backed up by another leaker, Necro Felipe, who tweeted “I see that team March will win after all.” Because of the reveal in March, Nate Drake claims that the next Nintendo Direct will be a Partner Direct, which focusses on third party games coming to the Nintendo Switch family of systems. Nintendo has yet to announce a successor to the popular Nintendo Switch.

  1. Even so Nintendo didn’t mention any small details about the successor yet, I’m still counting on the sales for the system and how much money they are going to make for the next machine. Nintendo isn’t trolling us.

      1. Hey man, why continually insult them? If you don’t agree, or don’t understand their comment, you don’t have to reply and can go about living your life. Engaging in conversation and constructive criticism is always welcome, but personal insults and being a bully are not cool.

      2. What in their comment prompted this response? Galaxy is a very nice commenter around here, and nothing they said in this comment warranted a retort with your sort of malice.

Fact is, “leakers” post stuff all the time, and while we know we’re close to the end of the Switch’s life, at this point in time we don’t know anything about the Switch’s successor outside of speculation and hearsay. Galaxy posted within that realm of speculation, and your response was unwarranted and very rude. Don’t be an ass.

  2. I want to see and hear information as soon as possible but my guess is they will officially announce the next system and talk about how excited their partners are before the end of the fiscal Year, which is march, to give the stock price a bump. However, I don’t think they will show anything. They will probably save that for around May-June

  3. I’m personally excited for a March reveal. Nintendo has had three years after Switch OLED to develop a new Switch, and 3DS XL to New 3DS took two years. It’s a good time to release a new Switch, now that hardware sales are starting to slow down. Late this year would be a good time, to try and sustain more sells for the previous Switch, and it will be interesting to see what Nintendo will bring to the table now that they’ve had enough time with this next generation.

  4. I wonder if the reason Nintendo is not releasing any info on the Switch 2 is because rivals like Steam Deck will get early information and copy that giving the Switch 2 hardly a year before it is relased by itself without competition.

  5. With the lack of known first-party games coming to Switch this year (all we know for certain are the MvDK remake, Princess Peach Showtime, the Paper Mario TTYD remake, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD), Nintendo has to reveal either more games coming to Switch or reveal its successor in the coming months. I believe we will see something official about Switch 2 by the end of the year.

  6. The Switch 2 doesn’t exist.
Their next console will have something in common with the Switch but nothing more, it’s time to figure it out… A switch with just technical improvements is guaranteed suicide

      1. “Switch 2” will necessarily be more expensive than the “Switch 1”, what are they going to do with it? abruptly stop its marketing? I doubt it since it’s still selling, the most logical would be to leave it with the “Switch 2” but since it will be more expensive, it’s not to it that people will buy
2.il have to make people want to buy it a Mario or Zelda in 4K won’t change a thing, which refers to the 1.
3 there are already quite a few competitors who have copied its concept, it no longer surprises anyone, it will inevitably become less so
Nintendo hasn’t worked like that for 20 years when they tried again, it led to the failure of the wii u
5.The president keeps repeating that they are always looking for new ways to use software and hardware, which is a good indication that they are not going to settle for a copy and paste

        1. The technology will be more expensive than the first Switch. Thanks for that Captain Obvious.

Regardless of the concept, you’re missing a crucial point. Only Nintendo does what Nintendo does. If you want to play their games its on their systems. Regardless of the Steam copy cats. Switch is currently Nintendos 2nd biggest console of all time. So they will do everything to keep the momentum for their next console.

Nintendo has followed up with successors. WiiU was a car crash yes. But the successor to the DS, the 3DS was a again, a great success.
          Suicide. I don’t think so.

  7. What’s gonna be on this new system exactly? The same games with updated graphics? Zelda with giant barren worlds? And let me guess, this will be another generation where they ignore Pilotwings or Starfox.

Mario Kart has been tired for a while now IMO, I mean don’t get me wrong, it’s a decent multiplayer battle racer, but it’s the same tired formula and the single player is super bare bones. Hard to believe Nintendo kept recycling the same game over and over with little change (except for MKDS) when Diddy Kong Racing did a better job all the way back on the 64. Mario Party Superstars if probably one of few games Nintendo managed to right previous wrongs of, mostly.

But whatever I guess, Nintendo gonna Nintendo.

  8. When will these clout chasers give up predicting and saying this will and that will happen for example metriod trilogy on switch was ” rumoured” but proved false so these neysayers need to stick to being patient and not build peoples hopes up.

  9. It makes me question whether Nintendo is keeping the Switch 2’s details under wraps so that competitors like Steam Deck may get their hands on them and make copies, leaving the Switch 2 with little room for competition when it finally launches.
