Pokemon Gold and Silver seem to feature in Pokemon Presents

The Pokemon Company announced earlier today that there will be a Pokemon Presents presentation on Pokemon Day, which is next Tuesday. Advertising the event in a short video on social media the descriptions of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver were displayed below the video on the mobile app which linked the showcase specifically to Gold and Silver. It is not clear whether the games will be remakes much like Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl or alternatively a release on the Nintendo Switch Online service. Either way we will find out for sure on Tuesday, 27th February.

  1. I’m not sure what platform that is, but YouTube at least just automatically does that and it’s often wrong. I’ve seen videos that will link Persona 5 there because the video has used one song from P5 in the background, alongside songs from loads of other games, YouTube just picks P5 randomly.

  2. If it’s anything like Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.. I’m worried.
But it’ll probably just be them releasing it onto the Nintendo Switch Online service

  3. I hope it’s a Legends game or a 2.5D remake of Gold and Silver or HeartGold and SoulSilver.. just no Let’s Go Johto or chibi-styled 3D remake like BD/SP please!!

  4. Seems strange to release Gen 2 on NSO before Gen 1. Maybe they’ll drop both at the same time. Or maybe they’ll do the unthinkable and drop Gens 1-3 all at once.

Eh… who am I kidding? It’s going to be a crappy remake of Gen 2… MAYBE Brilliant HeartGold and Shinning SoulSilver. They were also DS games like D/P and they can reuse the BD/SP engine.

My dream announcement would be a Legends-style remake of Gen 2.

    1. It would be so amazing if they dropped the gens 1-3 Gameboy games with compatibility with the Stadium games, and eventually with Colosseum and Gale of Darkness if they ever implement a GameCube app. Too good to be true

        1. Sadly, this is Pokémon, so I can see them making the effort. In fact, it’s been over 10 years since the last Golden Sun & Camelot has been wasting away working on Mario sports games. If Xenoblade hadn’t been as successful as it was, I guarantee Monolith Soft would be languishing as only being a secondary developer to Zelda games. Of course, it’s been just as long since an Endless Ocean game yet here we are. So never say never, I guess.

  5. After the Killer Instinct & Mother 3 announcements for NSO, pretty much anything is on the god damn table at this point. If Game Boy Color NSO becomes a reality or it’s just more Gen 2 remakes, then so be it. But if it’s the latter scenario, please don’t let the executives at Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and Game Freak rush the development team. It’s been a problem since Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.
