Smash Bros. creator Masahiro Sakurai has announced on social media network X that he has finished filming his informative YouTube videos on game development. He had previously said that he would wrap up the videos once a new video game project came along. The news comes after various job positions at Namco Studios S and 2, which were the developers on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, have now closed as the applicants have been chosen and notified. These new positions were specifically opened to work on Nintendo first party video games.
Sakurai has finished his YouTube series, had said he’d wrap things up to work on upcoming project
Kid Icarus Uprising HD followed by a new Smash probably.
Fingers crossed man, I bet sakurai would not be satisfied with just an HD upscale of his magnum opus

I hope this upcoming project is not Smash. Not because I don’t want another Smash, quite the contrary, I’ve been waiting for the next iteration. I don’t want Sakurai to make the next Smash because he keeps saying he doesn’t want to make Smash bros games anymore and I want him to pass the torch to someone else. I hate it when Sakurai says he’s wrapped up with the upcoming Smash, doesn’t tell us if he’s going to make the next one, and doesn’t give us a gap for us to tell him what we really want. At least this time he gave us a possible hint.
Well I definitely want this to be a new kid Icarus game, I willing to bet that it’s actually the next smash: with the switch successor on the horizon, you know Nintendo is making the next match game a high priority
