Zenless Zone Zero recently launched on multiple formats and has been a huge success with 50 million downloads since it launched a couple of days ago. While developer miHoYo isn’t bringing the stylish game to the Nintendo Switch, producer Zhenyu Li addressed the possibility, and teased that he would certainly be open to bringing the game to the next Nintendo platform. Here’s what Li told Famitsu:
“Currently our highest priority is increasing the quality regarding the platforms that we plan to work with. As we continue the development process, we think we will find the possibilities for this. Of course, there is an assumption it will be made into an excellent experience, and as a personal fan of Nintendo I will be very happy to see that become a reality.”
50 million downloads in a few days?!?!?!?! Wow! That’s absolutely insane. Incredible.
In my personal opinion, Mihoyo’s mission statement is probably ‘we /really/ would like our games on Nintendo platforms, we just need a way to make them fit’.
Like ofc they would want Genshin & HSR & ZZZ on Switch. The biggest issue is probably file size imo. My best bet is once the Switch 2 is out and has sold like hotcakes for a good bit, we’ll see a version of (first) Genshin out since it’s their most popular property.
My idea is sort of like, you’ll have to at least once a week ‘check-in’ to verify & sync your data. From there, you can play story quests offline solo, without the ability to make wishes. Then when you’re back home and on wi-fi, you can access those features. Sort of like how NSO does it? That’s my best guess for a solution to balance the Switch’s (and Switch 2’s) handheld/console playstyles.
Besides that it’s just a matter of filesize compression, since the Switch 2 will 1000% be able to handle these games

I started playing Zzz. It’s pretty fun! I’m doing a Free To Play run through the game. I already invest in Genshin so I don’t want to spend money on another. 👍🏼
Mmmm very understandable. I don’t see no news on Genshin Impact being on the original switch. I’m guessing they are saving it for Nintendo’s next platform!
I’m currently playing this on the PS5 the gameplay and combat is smooth and refreshing.
