Believe it or not, not only is Pokemon GO still alive, but it is still receiving a lot of support and additional content from Niantic. In fact, the mobile Pokemon game has just recently celebrated its 8th anniversary. So, it was only a matter of time before Niantic decided to celebrate the game’s anniversary in some way.
Well, it has happened, but not in-game. You see, Niantic decided to post a video on social media acknowledging the anniversary. However, they also decided to ask fans what their fondest memory is with the game. You can see the official Pokemon GO account’s post about the matter down below.
I still remember walking to the park with a friend, only for some guy sitting on his porch to scream at me. I was a little frazzled, since it was super suuuper late at night.
That was until I heard he was yelling something like ‘WWWOOOHHHH YEAAHHH POKÉMON!!!!’ and I ended up raising a fist up like ‘yea :)’
That and also finding an Eevee on my street corner and catching it (I was hyped bc it was a school night and I was able to just walk back to my house and to bed lol)
Summer 2016 would not be that memorable without pokèmon go, without a doubt, such an amazing idea for a pokèmon game, absolutely loved it when it came out
My fondest memory was playing Overwatch while everyone was outside picking fights over Pokemon Go, using lures to mug people, trespassing and walking into dangerous places etc
this is gonna backfire as alot of those answers are gonna RIGHTFULLY be remembering the game before the avatar change.
My Fondest memory of Pokémon GO is starting off the first it launched where I was ive been playing Pokémon Go that first day up to now I’ve been since 2016 it was good year lots of exercise that year too and adding all Pokémon I could to the Pokedex of the game also the server problems were crazy very hard to stay online on Pokémon Go in 2016 I remember catching one of starters of Pokémon GO!
My fondest memory was when I was able to make a cool looking avatar. Sadly, this avatar looks like trash today.
