Tetris 99 has been available to play for over 5 years now. Nevertheless, the game continues to receive a lot of support. When there isn’t any updates, the game is receiving themes that fans can get from Maximus Cups. Most of the new themes involve a first-party game that recently released on the Nintendo Switch.
However, this is a rare exception. The 42nd Tetris 99 Maximus has been officially announced, but you may be surprised to hear that it was done so via Nintendo’s North American Splatoon social media account. That’s because the next theme is based on Splatoon 3’s Expansion Pass DLC. The Maximus Cup will be taking place in 2 weeks from now, beginning on August 16th.
