Capcom would like to rerelease all their classic fighting games on modern consoles

There was a lot of hype when Capcom revealed the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics which is due out on the Nintendo Switch later this year. Shuhei Matsumoto, who is the producer on the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics collection, told IGN recently Capcom would like to reach as many people as possible by rereleasing all their classic fighting games on modern consoles.

“We want all our classic [fighting] games to be available for modern consoles because we just want to be able to reach as many people who may have never had the opportunity to play these games back in the day,” Matsumoto began. “So, we constantly think forward, and we want to make sure that it’s as accessible as possible for all audiences.”

  1. Yeah, but Capcom keeps censoring or removing content from the classic games, for example E. Honda’s SFII stage and the removal of Norimaro from msh vs sf japanese version (he was never in the usa release) plus the removal of the resident evil 4 upskirt gag and how badly censored the VR Resident Evil 4 is. So…no thanks capcom, if you remove or censor things on a classic game then it becomes a modern modification of a classic game, but it’s NOT the same as the classic game. So I’ll stick to free emulation when it comes to classic capcom games, I want the game exactly as it was back in the day, not some censored for woke reasons bullcrap that capcom loves to shove down our throats. Just remember, capcom wants you to pay for a censored product or you can get the product capcom is selling for free with arcade emulators, 100% uncensored. I’m not interested in paying for censorship.

      1. A lot better than being treated like a child and loving it. Imagine that, being told you can’t have a product the way it was meant to be because they have to protect you by censoring it first, and this clown is happy to be treated like a child. LOL

  2. Yes, please! I’d love to be able to play games like Rival Schools, Power Stone, and Star Gladiator without having to pay $100+ for the PS1 versions!

      1. No… just no. We had enough censorship, Capcom. You already losing money from the trash that you and your friend Konami barf out.

    1. Man you took it back! Rival Schools and it’s sequel were dope (I think Rival Schools was better). Star Gladiator was the da sh!t, but I don’t recall if the sequel had the same magic though. Power Stone and Power Stone 2 were ok though. But if there was a compilation with all of those games that would definitely be worth for price.

  3. They say that, there is nothing stopping them from doing it, everyone is asking them to do it, but they choose not to do it.
I wish Capcom, cand every company who make pointless statements like this, would just not say anything and stay quiet if they aren’t gonna actually do what they state they want to do.
