Warner Bros. has finally provided a teaser for the upcoming live-action Minecraft movie, officially titled “A Minecraft Movie.”
It currently sits at #1 trending on YouTube and has generated much discussion- with the negative drowning out the positive.
After the latest video game to film adaptation (Borderlands) flopped, people appear to be on edge and skeptical of A Minecraft Movie.
But here’s what Warner Bros. had to say about the teaser on their YouTube page:
From Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures and starring Jason Momoa and Jack Black, “A Minecraft Movie,” directed by Jared Hess, is the first-ever big screen, live-action adaptation of Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time.

Looks like pure Hollywood uninspired slop. Who would have thought, also what in the actual fuck, why is Jack black in every videogame movie like goddamn, are they trying to make me hate my guy?

Why do the animal mobs look like that? Why does Jason Momoa look like a gender-swapped adult Dora the Explorer? And why does Jack Black look like a lowest-possible-effort attempt at a Steve cosplay?
This looks like it’s gonna be like the PlayMobil Movie all over again, in plot and substance.
I find it funny that even long before Jack Black was confirmed for the movie’s cast Tenacious D already made a Minecraft reference in the music video for their short song Video Games, and even that “Minecraft model” of Black in said music video (0:53) looks like it would have fit more in the movie then Black just appearing as himself.XD
