There can be no denying that the Super Mario Bros. Movie has been a massive success for both Nintendo and animation firm, Illumination. Today, a report has come out from Deadline revealing that the Super Mario Bros. Movie now tops 2023’s most profitable movies as the animated film made more than half a billion in profit with the estimated profit around $559 million. Deadline reports that this is now the third animated movie to hit the milestone after Disney’s Frozen 2 and Illumination’s Minions. The Super Mario Bros. Movie has come close to beating Frozen 2, which made more than $600 million in profit back in 2019. Disney’s Frozen 2 currently holds the record for the most profitable animated movie of all time.
