The original Bayonetta launched in Japan on October 29, 2009, and with the series now celebrating its 15th anniversary, Mari Shimazaki, the artist who designed the title character, has now shared an artwork to X to mark the occassion.
“Congratulations on the 15th anniversary of Bayonetta and the 2nd anniversary of Bayonetta 3! Sorry it’s a WIP drawing, I drew it in between work. I wanted to make a soft and beautiful picture, but before I knew it, the contrast had become too extreme. I wanted to use the red, blue, and purple symbolic colors of 1, 2, and 3. I didn’t have enough time, so I’ll finish it before the 15th anniversary.”

In the West, Bayonetta made her debut on Xbox and Playstation in January 2010, but it wasn’t until 2014 that the series came to a Nintendo console for the first time through the Wii U.
Series creator Hideki Kamiya has since left PlatinumGames, with Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon being his last work for the series, but he has said that it will “probably” continue even if he’s no longer a part of it.
Curious on where the series might head next? Have anything you’d like to see the next game improve upon? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

It was pretty funny when people got angry she ended up married to a man and having a kid. I still need to play 3.
it was funnier when people started to chimp out when the series jumped from xbox and playstation to Nintendo.
People and their headcanons, just like people and their headcanon that Goku is a bad father. It’s like those people hate straight relationships.
….. Anything is a headcanon….b3 isn’t even the same Bayonetta from the first two games…and it’s not like b2 and platinum never posted art supporting bayo and Jeanne either….when they actually did…
There shouldn’t be issues.. ppl who liked bayo and Luka have b3
People who liked bayo and Jeanne have the previous games…it’s a different universe… What is bad is the ppl using out of context art to spread hate and provoke ppl
Bayonetta always looked fruity, and a lot of lgbt folks related to that, so I get that disappointment
It’s evident you didn’t play it…. As she never married a man…and the “kid” she had wasn’t even the playable bayos…it was from another Bayonetta in another universe….
Even the playable main Bayonetta is confirmed not the same Bayonetta from the old Bayonetta 1-2 continuity. Ppl tried to explain that but the actual people angry and trolling weren’t the ones you assumed was mad… Ppl where using fun and cute fan art the team posted with no context to troll and spew hate…to spite others.
Your comment is a good example of the funny stuff I was talking about.
How so…. Because nothing said there was a lie ..? Maybe actually play the game first… Wolverine gets with a guy in one alt universe, flirted with another in another universe… Doesn’t mean all wolverines are gay and bi…it’s a multiverse bayo has official art with Jeanne too .. b3 is confirmed not the same Bayonetta…. Just adding context.. not telling jokes .
Not a game series I’m interested in, but that’s a great drawing! Finished or not.
