Nintendo has informed its Japanese fans that the Alarmo alarm clock will not get a public launch in January in the Land of the Rising Sun, as the company had intended. In a brief statement the company said that the decision was ultimately made due to a “production and inventory situation”. It is not clear whether the same situation with Alarmo will happen here in the west, though it does seem likely. Nintendo had been planning a public launch for the fancy alarm clock in January 2025.

Just a correction, they said the launch in Japan was postponed, not cancelled.

Yup this is mentioned in the article 😊
Edit: Updated headline to clarify.
👍
Oh, how horrifying. How will the Japanese people wake up now without the iconic mario coins when they move their body in bed?
You just gave me a great idea on how they could use Alarmo to help with the declining birth rates in Japan.
GET THOSE COINS BABE, GROUND POUND MY BLOCK!
Highly unfortunate.
