Entertainment website Variety is reporting that Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is planned for release in 2027. This news comes ahead of the impending release for SEGA and Paramount’s third film in the series, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which is expected to generate around $55 million to $60 million when it launches tomorrow across 3,800 theatres in North America. Variety says that naturally plot details for the fourth entry are being kept tightly under wraps.

We’re getting a fourth-FOURTH-Sonic movie, yet the closest thing we got to a CGI/live action Mega Man movie is his Secret level episode that was only a few minutes long.
