Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter confirmed for worldwide release on Switch in Fall 2025

Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, announced in August 2024 under the tentative name The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky the 1st, will release worldwide on Nintendo Switch in Fall 2025.

GungHo Online Entertainment shared the news through a press release and announcement trailer, confirming that Nihon Falcom has partnered with the publisher to launch the game- a remake of the very first Trails- in the west at the same time as in Japan.

This follows reports from earlier in the year claiming that Nihon Falcom was making strides to cut down the delay between Japanese and western releases of their games.

The western release of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will have reworked localization, English and Japanese voiceovers, and the option for English, Japanese, French, and German subtitles.

A physical release was also teased, with standard editions to be available through Amazon in North America and through Clear River Games in Europe for $59.99 and €59.99 respectively.

Collector’s editions from Limited Run Games will be unveiled at a later date.

  1. Honestly I would prefer AI over butchered localization from activists cuz they need to appeal to the non-existent audience aka the modern audience.

    1. I agree but if I had to choose between generative AI and butchered localization from activists I would choose the generative AI and that’s saying something.

  2. I played the demo for Trails of Daybreak, so I intend on buying & finishing that one day since I’m hooked on the characters; along with Daybreak 2. (The only thing that irked me was a scene where a girl covers her chest yet there was nothing exposed of her. Like wtf; that’s stupid. I’m not sure if it was censored or what. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was, honestly.) Not sure about playing any of the other games in the franchise, though. Hell. There’s always a chance I don’t even bother returning to Daybreak. shrug We’ll see.
