Octopath Traveler 2 was a well-received sequel to the original Octopath Traveler game and released on a variety of different formats. In a new interview Team Asano says that the team is fully aware that expectations for Octopath Traveler III are incredibly high, but it sadly they don’t have anything to announce at present saying “we genuinely feel [fans’ expectations], I just wanted to convey that.” Team Asano says it knows it needs to nail the third game in the series saying “if we’re going to do it, we’re going to push the limits” and they encourage fans to “keep looking forward to what comes next.”

i personally prefered the combat of 0, the story never meant much to me but thats the same for all those games

I’ll happily wait for OTIII- I still have to do the final act of I (I completed all the individual paths, just need to do the sidequests that open that up) and I haven’t started II or 0 yet.
The finale of Octopath Traveler is devestatingly peak. I’d recommend sweeping up any secret bosses you missed and stocking up on items (don’t forget the secret jobs!!)
That last run is demonically unforgiving and difficult. It added so much playtime just from grinding, so don’t be afraid to look up strategy guides online for it if you can’t get past !!
