SNK is home to a wide variety of video game franchises, including some that are appreciated by fighting game fans. SNK is the company behind Fatal Fury, King of Fighters and Samurai Shodown. All 3 have had games released on various platforms over the years, including the Nintendo Switch. King of Fighters, in particular, has been around for decades and is considered a very important franchise within the company. In fact, the franchise has been celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
So, it isn’t that surprising that SNK Corporation recently announced that they were creating a brand new studio within the company that is named after King of Fighters. It is called KOF Studio, and SNK says that this new studio will “proudly carry on the storied legacy of our iconic fighting game IPs while driving their evolution well into the future”.

This is great. A studio dedicated to KOF is amazing. Up until now SNK was developing the last few ones, but kept switching back and forth between franchises. I do wonder whose running the studio though.
