Former Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime was presenting at this year’s New York Game Awards. 1. Astro Bot made one key mistake – being exclusive to a system where it wasn’t really wanted. It would have sold triple what it did on Switch. Hopefully as with other Playstation ports we’ll see a PC port one day because I’m keen to play it but not so keen as to splash on a PS5.

    1. Sony will surely read your comment, install a task force to immediately stop development of Astrobot 2, assuming all those sales of Astrobot had to be logistic errors.

  2. This game shows how envious and thirsty the gaming industry is for Nintendo’s IPs and legacies. Can’t really remember the last time the whole western gaming industry push so hard for a game that the masses don’t really care about, based on the amount of copy sold, just to try to one-up Nintendo.

          1. Mario Wonder sold 4 million copies it’s first 2 weeks, Astro bot sold 1.5 million… In a month. As of now Mario Wonder is at 12 Million units so far. Astro bot, doesn’t have updated numbers since. It’s not hard to tell which of the 2bis actually successful.

      1. Dorito Pope “award” actually prove my point. It’s a vanity award that means nothing if that game sold terribly. The exact case with Astro Bot.

  3. The most we can hope for is a Steam release (specifically on the Steam Deck, the same place as everything else that doesn’t come Nintendo’s way, like Palworld).

  4. PS5 has over 60 million install base and Astral Bot isnt flying off shelves like a 3D Mario? Interesting. I would had thought it would since it is one of the few from ground up software PS5 exclusives. So what are Astro Bot sales figures?

    1. As of right now, the last update was back in November, where they said Astro Bot had moved 1.5 million units. They gave another update in December I think, where they said it was selling very well, and haven’t said anything since. This is very telling because Sony loves bragging. If it was selling well, we would know the numbers.

  5. “Central Park Children’s Zoo Award for best kids game at the New York Game Awards” what kind of award is that? XD

Ngl kinda hoping Astrobot comes to PC

  6. In my opinion, both Astro Bot and Black Myth: Wokong, the most anticipated games of 2024, and two biggest jokes of video game history.

Astro Bot, a copycat of Nintendo’s best games’ concepts and wins some academic-like jokes GOTY, can only get bad commercial performance that so far away to reach Nintendo’s same-concept games’ success, and even bomb in it’s origin country Japan.

Black Myth: Wokong, using as many social media lies as possible to make Chinese “country-love” gamers believes it is the best selling games around the world in 2024, but outside the firewall, the game have no popularity in non-Chinese fanbase (yeah, 99% reviews on Steam are Simplified Chinese) and it even cannot be find on any year-end chart of game sales.

Yeah, just like Hollywood movies and Japanese anime last year, 2024 now definitely become the biggest joke and shame of video history.
