The Nintendo Switch‘s library contains tons and tons of video games of all sorts of genres. Even though the console’s life is nearly done with, that doesn’t mean that Nintendo‘s hybrid console isn’t getting a steady stream of games. In fact, the latest example of this may not surprise you.
Publisher Red Dunes Games and Dutch developer Blast Zero have announced a new game based on Samurai Pizza Cats, a 1990s adaptation of an anime called Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. The game is officially called Samurai Pizza Cats: Blast from the Past. The 2D action RPG game is slated to release in 2026. Only Steam is directly mentioned, but it was stated that the release will be on “all major platforms”, so it is safe to say that the Switch will be one of them.
Never heard of this, but it has a cool name.
So is this game about a load of cats that chop up pizzas with samurai’s ??
This was one of my first favorite anime. Who would have known it would be relevant again?
I started watching the show pre pandemic in high school so I’m so ready to buy this.

I’m so damn glad Disney freed it’s clutches from this show. This was a mega classic.
