Footage has started appearing online of the closed network test for PlayStation 5 users for the upcoming Sonic Racing: Crossworlds, which is being developed internally by an experienced team at SEGA. The fast and frantic game looks set to be an arcade take on Mario Kart with plenty of power-ups and chaos combined. Check out some footage of a full race in the closed network test. Kind of reminds me of Nickelodeon Kart Racers, looks like it’s a blast playing.
I mean it’s pretty obvious from watching the footage that they’re not taking on Mario Kart, and they’re not even trying to do that. This simply won’t have the casual appeal that Mario Kart has. They’re wise to take this approach I think – what they’re offering is something different, a more unique and intense take on the genre. I’m not sure if it will be for me, looks like there’s a little too much going on for my taste, but if it reviews well I’ll definitely consider it.
