My Nintendo Store reveals official Switch 2 camera is 1080p and Hori Piranha Plant camera is 480p

The official My Nintendo Store has revealed that the official Nintendo Switch 2 Camera for GameChat is 1080p resolution. Hori recently announced and unveiled the brilliant looking Piranha Plant Nintendo Switch 2 camera, though sadly it has emerged that it will only display at 480p. Both items are available at My Nintendo Store at present, with the Hori camera being a cheaper option for those conscious of their cash.

  1. Was wondering why the cooler camera was cheaper, now I know why! To be honest, for the purposes of what it is doing (most of the time you’re just going to be hidden off at the bottom of your friend’s screen anyway), 480p probably gets the job done.

  2. I don’t think it’s so bad that they think about all budgets, that said the pirhana plant is still more classy ^^

  3. This is only slightly related to the article but i really hope Hori will come out with a better Taiko drum controller for the Switch 2. Like closer to the TAIKO FORCE LV6. My wallet is ready Hori.

  4. Seems odd to have such a huge focus on video chat only to not include a built-in camera. A 720p or 1080p camera is very cheap to make these days.
