Canada: Nintendo says pricing for Switch 1 and products will change due to market conditions

Nintendo is looking to increase prices on the original Nintendo Switch family of systems along with Nintendo products and services like Nintendo Switch Online due to incoming tariffs in Canada. The Kyoto-based company said on its official site that they will have more to share regarding pricing for its products in Canada on 1st August.

“Pricing for the original Nintendo Switch™ family of systems and products in Canada will change based on market conditions. These include Nintendo Switch – OLED Model, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, physical and digital Nintendo Switch games and Nintendo Switch accessories. Other Nintendo products, including amiibo and Nintendo Switch Online memberships will also experience price changes. Please note: This pricing change does not apply to the Nintendo Switch 2 system, accessories, or software. Pricing information specific to the Canadian market will be shared at http://www.nintendo.com/en-ca/store/ on 8/1.”

  1. Just glad no price increase on Switch 2 games which in Canada…MKW is $110cad and most big name third party like Cyberpunk are $99cad

  2. Im still looking for a Nintendo Switch 2 buy and games and a pro controller im currently saving cash to buy it one day can’t afford the price all at once plus on top all that were im at stock keeps coming and going out of stock,im also going to have to put my Pokémon in Pokemon Home to keep them save from Nintendo Switch 2 whipping everything i have on the games im honestly scared of doing the transfer because of that

    1. Um, nowhere in the statement does it say they will INCREASE prices. They just say prices will change

  3. Still wondering how tariffs on imports are affecting subscription prices ADM digital Goods. The tariffs and market co editions are just a scapegoat to Nintendo’s greed

  4. I’m very happy the Switch 2 games prices will remain the same how it is but the accessories will not. PlayStation and Xbox already started on doing them with theirs now.

  5. What incoming tariffs in Canada? There are no new Canadian tariffs on Chinese/Japanese/Vietnamese made goods.
