Star Wars Outlaws apparently runs poorly on Nintendo Switch 2 (update)

Update: Good Vibes Gaming now say they were wrong.

In unsurprising news it has emerged via GVG that Star Wars: Outlaws is the latest port on the Nintendo Switch 2 which is currently not up to scratch. The team went hands on with the action-packed game at PAX West 2025 and with the game’s release just a week or so away their impressions are not reassuring. The team weren’t even allowed to film any footage at all of the game. Star Wars Outlaws suffered from quite a few hilarious bugs at launch, but runs fine on other platforms, so it sounds like it needs more time in the oven. You can check out their impressions down below.

  1. This poorly optimized slop even runs poorly on high end PCs, not surprised in the slightest. Honestly I had hopes for this game but then I remembered it’s Ubislop.

  2. Some of these impressions need to taken lightly as the opinions given are questionable. Last week we had hyperbolic statements about Elden Ring being “a disaster” and yet actual footage that has surfaced suggests the reality is a very good looking version with some minor graphical downgrades and some, but not universal, performance issues. Always remember that it is within the interests of whichever outlet or content creator to be extreme, either positive or negative. Reasonable and balanced viewpoints are few and far between in this current age where truth and reality are secondary. Don’t ever jump to conclusions or rely on the accuracy of what you are being presented with.

  3. This switch 2 launch hasn’t been going smoothly for Nintendo, on one hand it’s their fault by overpricing their products, on the other is third party devs having a rough time porting their games on the platform, I fear this could cause bad publicity for the product in the long run, these are the first ports of the console and if the results are poor they are gonna leave a bad image on the hardware capability, even though it’s a pretty powerful device

    1. This won’t end well for Nintendo after the Switch 2 launch. The Switch 2 sales is going really smoothly but they still trying so hard to address the issues with the system framerates. I hope third party developers won’t pull the plug on putting their games on the Switch 2 system after what happen to the Wii U disaster during its lifecycle.

    2. You never experienced the first year of the PS2 to say that, did you? Its first games were infamous and inferior to the Dreamcast… it took more than a year for it to stand out. Here, the problem is just the laziness of the developers, not the machine itself; by chance, we will have beautifully made Nintendo games, and coincidentally, the ports or remakes made by some will be impeccable… I’ve had enough of seeing ignorant people trash something they know absolutely nothing about!

      1. I’d argue is not even the devs laziness, I’d say it’s the game engines fault, we know the switch 2 is a pretty powerful system and we know that people are having a hard time developing games on unreal engine 5, add the fact that epic is already creating excuses as to why it runs poorly on the system.
Also no I never experienced the launch of the ps2 I was a little baby lol.

  4. It’s because you need to get the performance enhancement DLC for $15. But you need the $5 DLC manager DLC to run it.

Or you could get the gold platinum edition for $150 that comes with all DLC. But you need the $5 DLC manager to install that too.

Just give them your bank and routing info and they promise it will run smooth soon.

  5. I won’t be buying any poorly performing third party games or any third party game key cards..currently I own one modern third party title digitally on Switch 2. The rest of my library is First Party games like MKW and DK Bananza.
