Nintendo has been working with third party publishers and developers to ensure that original Nintendo Switch software works correctly when played on Nintendo Switch 2. The latest batch of games working correctly on the Nintendo Switch 2 are as follows:
- Doom + Doom 2
- Guardian Tales
- NieR: Automata
- Skies Above
- Sugardew Island
- Super Mega Baseball 4
- Timespinner
However, Nintendo has also noticed some issues with other Nintendo Switch games being played on Nintendo Switch 2 with a couple of big titles seeing some compatibility issues such as Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Pokemon Shining Pearl and Resident Evil 4, which is experiencing progression problems. A couple of other games impacted include Sports Party and Blades of Darkness.

still no youtube 💔💔💔
Weirdly enough, Minecraft & Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition are broken after this update. Switch Edition consistently crashes after ~15+ seconds of loading in (textures flashing, UI icons blacking out, as well), and Minecraft (Bedrock) refuses to load any worlds.
Law of equivalent exchange, they finally fixed Nier:Automata, at the price (for now) of Minecraft…
Still haven’t fixed my Fractured Butwhole
I had an interesting bug with Brilliant Diamond. After transferring my data to new SD Card after upgrading to a 513 GB card it always crashed on launch. I put this down to some copy protection but maybe it was an actual bug (I do own the game after all, why should it care that I switched the SD card?). The only way to fix it was to delete the game and download it from the store again.
They need to fix Jurassic World Evolution.
Going to hold onto my original switch until the bugs are fixed.
